"Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" is more than just a catchy slogan. It's also good
advice. These things aren't always easy, but even people who live in areas without
recycling centers can do some things to help the environment.
The Frugal/Mindful Living Resources site can lead
you to tips and products for achieving an earth-friendly lifestyle.
Some towns without recycling centers at least have mobile aluminum recycling trucks that
come to town once a week.
You can also start a compost pile and buy products which are either made of recycled
materials or those which use the least amount of packaging possible. Those are examples of
reusing and reducing.
You can also join one or more of the free click races at Care2.com, which is a site that
has information on environmental issues, quizzes, free email and click races.
The races are free to participants, because the donations are paid for by sponsoring
companies who have small banner ads at the bottom of the respective race pages.
Their causes include the rain forest, environmental causes of breast cancer and endangered
species.
The "Race for the Rain Forest"
page has interesting rain forest facts and trivia.
You can check out more environmental issues at my environmental mini-site, but you'll
have to use your browser's "back" button because that site isn't linked to this
one.
